In 2020 Richard Taylor formed Wayne Taylor Music NZ playing covers of songs by The Beatles, Elton John, Billy Joel, Lionel Ritchie, Andre Crouch (old school gospel) plus some original songs. In 2021 Michael Walsh joined as the drummer and Justin de Ridder as guitarist. In 2022 Chris Fyfe joined as bass guitarist.

All of the band members live in the north-west of Auckland and the Rifle Range ampitheatre at Hobsonville Point, Auckland is our ‘home ground’ for gigs as this venue is very close to where Richard lives.

The band typically plays three times a year at the Rifle Range (Feb/March, September and December/Christmas gig), twice in Mt Eden at the Tahaki Reserve, Maungawhau (April and November), once in Hamilton (December lunchtime at Garden Place), once a year in Rotorua/Mt Maunganui (March) and once a year in Whangarei/Kaikohe (May).

The band sings mostly classic hits and promotes a positive message of peace, love, caring, sharing and faith. This is reflected in the selection of some of the songs we play. Others are just ‘fun to play’. We like to play at outdoor venues and have found that the music is enjoyed by all ages. Children running around dancing is common at our gigs.
